Where is RAM stored

I'm writing a script to pull the amount of RAM a remote system has, but can't find the key in the registry.
I've looked at the following key. I've also done a registry search for RAM, but that produces too many.
HKLM\HARDWARE\RESOURCEMAP\SYSTEM RESOURCES\PHYSICAL MEMORY
can someone give me a clue. I forgot to mention that this script will be run on NT.40 and Win2K.

just make an API call to

VOID GlobalMemoryStatus( LPMEMORYSTATUS lpBuffer
 // pointer to the memory status structure

);

Thanks, I didn't get an email or I would have responded sooner. I'll let you know.
