OK When I start VI and try to create a project it tells me it needs a server? I try 127.1.1.1 but it doesn't work? I have FP 2000extensions installed. I have win98 and PWS.

You need to use 127.0.0.1 or localhost.

If you're not connected to the internet, before you start Interdev you should open your browser to http://localhost, you'll probably get an error, click retry and you should see web pages served up by your PWS.  This gets your tcp stack going before you start Interdev.

Can you open your browser to http://localhost and get some pages returned?  If you can't, maybe your PWS isn't running.

that works fine

I'm not sure what your problem is.  To create a new project, give a name to the project, enter a server name like localhost (no folder names), and when you click next you should see a contacting server popup, then a screen where you can specify a folder for the new web.  You can't use subfolders.

What PWS are you using?  For W98 you should use the PWS from the NT Option Pack or the W98 CD, not any PWS that came with frontpage.

I use the PWS that came with the ntpack on with Visual Studio6

I am actually having the same problem.

I know my IIS is working fine because I've developed a website with DreamWeaver and I'm able to access it, no problem.

When I try to create a new Interdev project I get the dialog asking for a server and I enter localhost, select local mode and click next.

It pops up a dialog saying that it is contacting the web server and then I get an error "Method not allowed(Errorcode = 80070005)"

I have service pack 5 installed.  Hansamryan, what service pack do you have installed?

Im not sure its been awhile.  I know my server is running also because I use Cold Fusion Sever with my PWS so it works fine.

I found the following link on one of the other questions:

http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/q220/1/66.asp

It provides troubleshooting information for problems connecting to the webserver from interdev.

It turns out that my problem was related to not having the FrontPage Server extensions installed.  Which is really strange because that was the first thing I checked by going to the Add/Remove Programs and checking that FrontPage Server Extensions were installed.

I downloaded the 2002 version of FrontPage Server Extensions from

http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dnservext/html/fpse02win.asp

installed it and now everything is working.

Maybe, you also need the 2002 version?
