I already tried what you told me, but my homepage is a page and when i did the action hotspot and made a preview on the web thsi did not work.
What i want to do is to have a search bar from the homepage as most of the web sites have, something like www.lotus.com, notes.net

How could i do this ?
Check SearchSite Database, it has generic search form which does searching on database, copy that form and provide a link using html tag on the page

like this http://www.mercury.com/products.nsf/By+Product+Number/$SearchForm?SearchView
