Hi Guys:
I have a Dell Pentium4 system with a DELL monitor. I have a double boot of Windows2000 and WinME on this.
In WinME, my monitory works fine. But, in Win2000, I have problems with the monitor. I can't see the graphics clearly. Sometimes during the startup, I get a message asking me to setup my display with 256 colors.
When I go to Control Panel and Display Properties, I see "16 Colors" (instead of 256) in the "COLORS" in "SETTINGS" tab. I can't switch over to 256 colors because there is only one setting here i.e, "16 colors".
Could anybody help me with this?
Thanks in advance.

This is determined by your video card/chipset - not the monitor. I would guess that your video chipset wasn't properly located/determined. Do you know what video card/chipset you have?

I would guess it is an ATI chipset if you are using the onboard chipset. If you need more help on locating this information, let us know.

Try updating your drivers.

Type in your tag number on the given box and it will tell you what is on your system.  Then you can download all the possible drivers.  If you have a nvidia, you will definitely want the latest drivers and you should also update the service pack on your pc.
