Sound Card dead after upgrading to Windows 2000

I've got a Dell Latitude CP laptop that used to have Windows 95 (oh yeah) on it.  I installed Windows 2000 on it, and it looks great - except that the Sound Card doesn't work anymore.  I can't be the only fool that has had this problem.  Anyone got an answer for this one?

The card is a Crystal Semiconductor (WDM).

1) Did you go to the Dell site and see if there were any win2k driver updates for your machine ?

If not, try the NT drivers - they may work.

I hope this helps !
IronFoot,
Try to reinstall the drivers of the sound card.

(1) Go to the Control Panel, system, Hardware, Device Manager..,

If you can find an option of Uninstall, select it to uninstall the device.
Continue to inspect other devices under the "Sound, video and game controllers".
You may all sound devices may be removed.

Without restart, select the  "Sound, video and game controllers" in the device manager.
Select the "Scan for hardware changes".
It will scan again and reinstall all necessary drivers.

(2) After step 1 , go to the Control Panel. Add/remove hardware.
Follow the wizard, select the option
     [x] Uninstall/Unplug a device.
     Next>, select the option
     [x] Uninstall a device
Next>, You will see a list of devices, checked the box
     [x] Show hidden devices.
Inspect if there is any hidden devices with Yellow ? marks.
If there is, go forward to remove them.

     Okay exit the wizard.
     Without restart.
Go back to device manager. Select my computer.
Right click and select "Scan for hardware changes".

All devices will be scan again and reinstall.
     Restart computer.

Remember, above steps should be taken by Administrator login mode.

See if you can get the sound now.

Let me know how you made it out.

Actually found the answer in the Dell support forum.  I didn't format my hard drive before I installed the OS.
