I bought laptop FOSA, model Flexi 2700c.
I had problem in configuring the display.
my display card is SIS 630 with 64 MB Video RAM  shared from system ram.

I tried many ways but i am getting half display with 800*600 resolution.

since i had more video ram ie 64MB i would like to configure display for 1027*768 Res.
when i use these settings with Xconfigurator.
when i am testing the configuration display just blinks.

Can any one help on this issue.how to solve.
can send me mail to chandoo@onebox.com

Hi, first I'd like to apologize for the delay in response. For some unknown reason there is hardly any experts
at Linux setup area around these days. So lets see if I can help you:
There is three things that have to be absolutely in tune for a fully working display:

a) screen resolution, for many cards in Linux 800 x 600 is the optimum, depending on other circumstances
    & functions
b) color depth, go for 16 bit in most cases & you already get very good results.
c) monitor sync rate. Horizontal & vertical sync rate of your monitor should be specified as given in your
technical instructions, otherwise the system might fall back to standard server settings in order to preserve
    your monitor.

First make sure c) is ok. Then get a stable b) in. After that you'll have a stable base to play with a) & test it up
to the highest possible rate.

No comment has been added lately, so it's time to clean up this TA.
I will leave a recommendation in the Cleanup topic area that this question is:

Accept xberry's answer - I expect problem in this case is the sync rate?
