Can anyone please tell me explicitly how to set up a linked server to an Oracle database? I have several linked servers to MS Access and other MS SQL databases, but I can't get it to work for Oracle.

For Oracle, you should first install the (basic) Oracle Client on the SQL Server, including SQLNet tools.
Then, you define an alias to the ORACLE Server using the SQLNet tools, and test this alias.
Finally, you create a linked server, using this alias name in the options.

I've done everything you suggested. When I then use Enterprise Manager, expland the the Security folder, expand the Linked Servers, expand my new linked server, and click Tables of Views I always get Error 7399: OLEDB provider 'MSDAORA' reported an error.

The you probably need to set up the security settings, as suggested in one of the articles. Unfortunately, i didn't do that recently, so i am unaware of all the options and settings for that, and don't have any of the tools available here...
Hope you can get there...

I can't find anything about security settings that I have not done. Can you be more specific?
