How do I alphabetize the contact list by last name first, rather than first name last?

What version of Outlook are you running?

In Outlook 2000 and above, from the Tools menu select either accounts, services, or E-mail accounts (depending on the version).  Select ‘View or change existing directories or address books’.  Select the address book and click change.  Under ‘Show names by’, select ‘File as’ and click close.  You must now close Outlook for the changes to take effect.  For any contacts that still don’t show last name first, open that contact and change the File as field.

In Outlook Express 5 and above, open the address book.  From the View menu select 'Sort by', then click Last name.
