Strange VB Bug

This sounds crazy but here goes.

I have a multi threaded project that I work in through a project group.

I open my project group by double clicking Group1.vbg.

Ran my app. I created a new class module. I named the module and saved it. After saving it popped up another window asking me to save group1.vbg. I hit NO and closed down the app (totally confused as to why it would do that). I looked in my app folder (which contatins all of my apps source files) and Group1.vbg no longer exists.

How do you spose this could have happened? Even if I wanted to physically delete the thing while the app was open I wouldn't be able to. I have the latest PC Cillin patch and thus don't believe it is a virus.

Just a suggestion, try disabling Scripting in Windows, and do the same, and that if you get this problem. As I have come across, that scripting cause some virus(?) to act upon applications.

To disable, you could remove Windows Scription Host in Control Panel - Add/Remove Programs - Windows Setup - Accessories - Windows Scription Host.

WARNING: Before doing this, make sure that you can again add the Windows Scripting Host, say with the O/S (Win'98 or whatever), CD or the Internet Explorer installation.

Also, hope, you do have the latest SERVICE PACK for VB, i.e. SP5. If not, you can get it from MS site.

Cheers.

Also, FYI, Windows Scripting Host is needed for VB, if you use FSO.

Hope it helps.

I've (very occasionally) had problems like this before with the SourceSafe add-in..?

And, of course, running in MTS or with subclassed forms.

Hi billy21,

Thanks. Did it solve your problem?

Out of curiosity, could I know, if it was accidental or the originally itself, this q. points was 0?

Cheers.
