Index page without tool bars

How can I open the index.htm (or startup page) without toolbars.  I know I can open a window from one page using the window.open command and pass the switches to it.  I can have my index page open another page without the toolbar but I want to see if there's anything I can do to open the original page without toolbars.

No.  You cannot modify the users settings you only have control of windows that you open with scripting.  It is a security measure, and no user in their right mind would use a browser that let you control their settings.

BTW... based on what I see in your profile; you disrespect experts who give a correct answer that you don't like, by giveing B or C.  I would prefer you just delete,  if you are not prepared to accept the restrictions on the technology.

??? Could you be more specific on what you are talking about.  As far as I can tell, I grade answers based on how accurate they are.  Often enough, I don't get the right answer but I get a response which leads to the answer.  If you can find an instance where I did not do this, then I stand corrected and will be more carefull next time.

BTW - thanks for answering the question and do lighten up a little :-)

Thanks

Okay an example, and I not trying to offend you.  The experts view the grade as an indication
of the level of appreciation and respect.  Understand that everyone is a volunteer, and they are
here because they want to be, and they enjoy helping.

"I really applaud you guys who take the time out to answer these questions. I try sometimes but my skill
level is somewhat limited. (As evidenced by me asking the question :-)) "
Was your final comment in this thread:

But you graded it with a C.

Several experts gave an effort to help, on something that is not easy to
understand or implement.  Most experts just look at the grading history,
and when they see the C grades get very cautious about helping.  Some,
including me are offended by a C because it is the lowest grade and is
an indication that the quality was unacceptable.

Just consider that, if the site is useful to you, that your profile
can make a difference in how willing experts are to spend time helping
you.

I hope that explains what I was saying to you.  I really am just trying
to help you get good service on the site.  Thanks for the A. :^)

I agree 100% and I'm not offended.  Actually, I'm very appreciative.  It's something I've learned to do - accept constructive criticism without getting defensive.

Once again, thanks.
