Passing of Javascript/HTML values

How can I pass Javascript/HTML values (user's input in the webpage) to JSP scriplets within the same page WITHOUT perform a redirect/forward/refresh of the page?

If I understand the question correctly, the answer is you can't. The JSP is executed at the server so you must do a refresh.
