Hum. When I did that it says the file is not a freehand file and then closes. Could it be due to the file being exported and not done as a 'save as'?

What was it exported as? If it was exported as something other than a native freehand file then its not a freehand file and needs to be opened with something else.

I'm still trying to get a hold of the graphic artist who created the file. As soon as I do, I let you know. Would a save as perform the same function as an export?

Not necessarily. Export is usually performed when you want to change the file format to something like PDF or Postscript. Save As is usually when you want to go to something like TIFF, JPEG, or another native file format.

DO you have Freehand on MAC? Maybe I could send the file to you to see if you can load it?

Will Ill load Freehand files? Is so, maybe I can send the file to you to see it the file loads. Then I'll know its a problem with the file being on a PC.

I've never tried but if you cant open it with freehand on your computer illy isnt going to open it on mine. Freehand files are cross platform so if you cant open it, there is something else going on like it's not really a Freehand doc or its corrupt.

Ok. Thanks for all your help. Like I mentioned, I've asked the artist to look closer at the file.
