Hi Guys,

   How servlet communicates with an untrusted applet??

Hi,

Same way as untrusted applet communicates with server it was loaded from. Servlets are typically visible as http resources to outside world, so there is not much difference between servlet and static html page in the security sence. Applet can form a request and send it to the servlet, then process servlet's responce. If servlet client is known to be applet, you can use serialization as communication protocol.

If you want servlet to be active, security permissions don't allow untrusted applet to create server socket, but applet could poll servlet state and handle requests when needed.
