We have found that Blackberry works best when it is NOT running on the same server as your Exchange 5.5. We used to have it on the same box and encountered all sorts of strange issues....working with Blackberry support, they strongly suggested keeping Exchange and the Blakcberry enterprise server on sepeate machine (of course on the same network)....

Which version are you running of Blackberry Enterprise?  If you are running 2.1, then you can not run blackberry on any server that has outlook installed.  The new verions uses CDO while 2.0 uses MAPI. Also, it is advised that you do not run blackberry with exchange due to conflicts, though with 2.0 you could.
hope this helps.
