Recreating Winsock and Winsock 32

What are the proper procedures for getting rid of the old Winsock and Winsock32,and recreating them.I used to have this written down,but have since lost it.Any help would be greatly appreciated

Do you have winsock.old on your system?

Copy the Winsock.old file from the Windows folder or the Windows\System folder to the folder containing the program's executable file.


Rename the Winsock.old file in its new folder to Winsock.dll.

Thank you very much.It wasn't really what I was looking for,as the rebuild notes I had were very specific and easy,and microsofts answer was more on the side of getting rid of it,not rewriting as my instructions had stated,but i'll figure it out somehow.
