do you know if it is possible to make a fillable form in adobe acrobat as a pdf? just a form that people can fill out with the pdf document i.e. name: then have a box beside this name field where people can automiatcally enter their info without having to print and fax it

Sure, you need a copy of Acrobat 5 and you need to have some sort of server component to handle the form data. The basics are covered in your Acro5 manual but some more complex techniques can be found below:
