what is the best method of creating help files for programs? An websites explaining this or tutorials or examples would be great

The Program that I use is called Help and Manual.

Current version is 3.0 (at last check)

i don't mean to be a cheapie, but is there anything FREE i could use? i am a student and money is hard to come by!

You could use help workshop that comes with visual studio or you can download it from microsoft site.
