hi experts,

I am configuring tomcat to run jsp and servlets,

I make "stanley" under "webapps"
and configure server.xml so that I can access:

http://www.xxx.com/stanley/index.jsp
http://www.xxx.com/stanley/servlet/HelloWorld

they are working fine.

How I can configure so that i can omit the "stanley" in the URL?
that is:
http://www.xxx.com/index.jsp
http://www.xxx.com/servlet/HelloWorld

Moreover,
my server is hosted a few domains, I try:
http://www.yyy.com/stanley/index.jsp
http://www.yyy.com/stanley/servlet/HelloWorld

It is working too!!!!

and also:
http://www.aaa.com/stanley/index.jsp
http://www.bbb.com/stanley/index.jsp
...

How can I limit it is only working for
http://www.xxx.com/stanley/index.jsp
not any others?

Thanks a lot.

Stanley

These are closely related quesitons:

in server.xml you can set up virtual hosts that limit servlet contexts to a single domain.

        <Host name="www.yourdomain.com" >
           <Context path=""
                    docBase="webapps/stanley" />
           <Context path="/stanley"
                    docBase="webapps/stanley" />
        </Host>

This should accomplish both your requests. Now everything in the webapps/stanley directory is served as if from the root level of your site. so both /index.jsp and /stanley/index.jsp will be valid. Do not forget to remove the regular "stanley" servlet context.
