RDR Event ID 3013 - Word97

I have an NT4 Server and 2 NT4 Workstations (and 20 Win98 Workstations) set up in my office.  I recently setup a new NT4 SP6a server as a PDC.  When I try to open a Word 97 document form the server, Word goes into a not responding mode, then in the event log I see the RDR event message (yellow).  All other Office 97 documents and other types of files open without problems.

I did extensive research on the web and found info for editing the registry to adjust Redirector File caching, of which I have done.  This has not worked.  (Reference  article: http://jsiinc.com/suba/tip0200/rh0231.htm)

Microsoft claims to have a hot fix for a $250 phone call referneced in artical Q252332.

Can anyone help me with this problem?  Does anyone have the "hot fix"?

Yes,
I have 3 networked printers on this server, an HP5si, HP4v, and a Lexmark Optra1275SC

Try installing a dummy local printer on one of the failing systems using an HP 4 driver.  Set that printer as the defualt printer, then try opening the Word doc

I tried the local printer suggestion, it did not work.  Note: one of the Workstations is connected to the lexmark locally, and it is set as it's default printer.

I currently use (and have used for 4 years) Cheyenne Innoculate 4.53 on the server,and (for 2 years) use Norton Antivirus NT V5 on the workstation.

I know this is frustrating, because it all of sudden happened.

The Hard drive on the Server is Mirrored and listed as healthy

Turn off Inoculan.  This error has been noted with that AV software.

Try disabling it for testing purposes.

I did the disable of the Virus software thing, since we have to have protection, so I changed a few settings in the software to mintor only incoming and not outgoing, and it still lets me open the documents!!!  SO I guess that I have to play around a bit to make sure that I have the proper protection,and useability.
