HOw do i write a java Zip program, can i change the properties to install my own algorithm?

If you want to use the existing zip algorithm, use java.util.zip.ZipFileInputStream or java.util.zip.ZipInputStream, and if you want to implement your own algorithm, subclass java.io.FileInputStream or java.io.InputStream to handle your compression algorithm.
