1) In explorer, right click file. When it gives popup, answer, open with Word

2) When you see it on the screen, press left mouse button and highlight text. Select copy. Move mouse to word window and paste it in

3) Open word. Select Open. Change to view all files and select the one you want

- Tried any of that yet?

Do you mean "*.txt"? On whatis, the closest approx of those letters is:

CTX Visual Basic User control binary file
CTX Pretty Good Privacy (PGP) Ciphertext file
CTX Microsoft Online Course Text

(revising...)
CXT Macromedia Director protected (not editable) "Cast" (resource) file

Conversions can work better when forming a .txt file first, using available techniques, such as mouse dragging or exporting or whatever

Director appears to be able to import text, but not export, only exporting images. But you can try html as intermediary, perhaps it will display what you want and you can move to word from there. Mfr Quote:

"Director is not an HTML editor; therefore, it does not create HTML Web pages. When saving your Director movie as a Shockwave movie, Director does provide an option to create a very simple HTML document with your Shockwave movie embedded. This can be useful for testing your Shockwave movies in browsers before embedding them in your own HTML documents you created outside of Director. "

Making use of the cut, copy, paste features with text in Director / Shockwave

Issues
The cut, copy, and paste features are not functioning in Director Projectors or Shockwave Player movies.

Solution
These features are only available only under certain conditions.

Conditions for cut, copy, and paste features to work:
 - Cut, copy, and paste will only work when applied to Text cast members; Field cast members do not support these features..
 - The Movie property the editShortCutsEnabled must be set to TRUE (1). In Director 8 this property is set to TRUE by default.

To disable cut, copy and paste for a given Text cast member, set editShortCutsEnabled to FALSE.
