may have times when it won't boot

unusual noise is a good indicator

Bad clusters found on scandisk

When it makes wierd noises.  Clicking, etc...  When you start getting a lot of lost clusters.

9x out of 10 a drive will make odd noises before it finally purchases a farm.  Could take a couple of weeks for it to go or a couple of minutes.

Unbelievable, "IBM" website actual has sample sound of head crash, head stuck onto platter,etc..
It's a good guide to detect impending Hdd failure.
/great mens thinks a like/
