Mspaint (Error in MFC42.DLL)

I'm attempting to use Mspaint, and encountering the following infuriating message "Mspaint has caused an error in MFC42.DLL. Mspaint will now close. Anyone have any clues on this particular conundrum? Thanks.

Thanks a million. The link provided the solution to the problem. It is caused by an invalid page fault in module Mfc42.dll. The methodology involves firstly removing the accessories in your Add/Remove settings, and then deleting the following registry keys: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Current Version\Applets\Paint B:HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Current\Version\Applets\Wordpad. Everything returns in pristine condition.Just for posterity this was the original error message  "Mspaint has caused
an error in MFC42.DLL. Mspaint will now close."Thanks once again for your assistance.
