How to disable radiobatton in dialog?

I'm using this function and it is working fine for checkbox but not working for radiobutton

SendDlgItemMessage(HWND,BUTTON1,WM_ENABLE,0,0);//disable

What is wrong?

GetDlgItem(IDC_BUTTON1)->EnableWindow(FALSE);
where IDC_BUTTON1 is the ID of the radio button in question.
