If you create a Formula Field and expand the Date/Time and Date Range selections, you will see a large list of Functions you can use to manipulate dates.  Crystal Help will give you more info about how to use each one.  One function that may assist you is the DateAdd Function.  For your use, it might look like this, to subtract 6 months from the current date:

DateAdd("m", -6, MyStartDate)

You can also extract the Month from the Date with the Month() or MonthName() Functions.  Let me know if you need further information.

Good Luck.

I can't find this function in Seagate Crystal ver7.0
Is there any other method to perform the same function as 'DateAdd' function

As best I can tell CR 7.0 doesn't include the DateAdd function.

You may have to do something like

if (month = "january") then
 startmonth = "August"
 startyear = year-1
elseif

etc

endif
