How to disable MDI frame in Lotus Notes 5

In Lotus Notes 4.x, there is an option under

File/User Preferences/Basic/Advanced Option

that I can set my preference for
'Keep[ing] all windows within main Notes window [MDI]'.

I like to disable the option and use mutliple windows to display and edit email messages.

Now that my company finally upgraded to LN 5, I could not find the same option anymore.  I am forced to use a single MDI window to display my Inbox as well as reading and replying to email.

That seems like a big waste of the 'screen estates'  that I had invested in my dual 19' desktop.

Could you please show me how to disable the MDI frame on LN5 and make LN pop up new windoes for displaying messages.

Thanks !

Benjamin

Here is what i got from Notes.net the closest to your requirement !

---------------
to do this you have to open the document or database you wish to detach into a separate session. Right click on the tab at the top and select the option Open In New Window. This will move the database to its own independent window.
You can then re-size the windows to the required dimension.

Thank you very much for your help.  It sort of gives me what I want but I am disappointed at how Notes took such a useful feature away.  May be I have to use Outlook to read a Notes Database from now on.  How sad....

Thanks !
