"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Depends on how the password is set. What program enabled the password? Is it a powerbook using powerbook security? Is it one of nortons disklockers? Usually those require that you call the manufacturer of the software and they will take you through with an administration password. If you cant figure out what software is being used youre probably in for a wipedown and reformat if itll even let you get that far.
