Frames (Dialogs) and Applets

Is it possible for me to create dialog box using Frames such that it accepts integer values that are being used in an applet.
I tried this and it worked half way.The dialog box accepted the input but just didnt want to disappear when  I had finished using it (It didnt seem to execute the dispose() function or the setVisibe(false) method.)
So maybe its because frame dont work properly with applets or something.
So, if Im wrong, please help out and kindly give me the hints on how to go about solving this problem.
Thanks....

Are you using Dialogs or Frames?
You can just call hide() to hide it when you're down.
And dispose it if you no longer need it.

Have you checked that your hide() method is actually getting called?
Try putting some debug before the call.

When you call setVisibe(false) the dialog must disappear. There is something wrong. Can you paste your code ?

I believe the above check would have probably found the cause of the problem, but recieved no reply.

I agree that if q_bic replied to your question - this would probably be solved. BUT - I think that the situation here is exactly what is stated in the clean-up recomedations for 'PAQ'd and pts removed':

"PAQ/No Refund
Use when the Experts have given good information to a relatively good question, but have not given a workable solution, and the Asker has stopped responding to the Experts' questions and comments. It's the best option in the absence of a clear answer. "
