Adding other java application in my java applicaiton

I am new to Java. I am in need for the solution....badly.

I  have developed an IDE in java. Parallely, one of my collegue too started customising an downloaded
editor to language A. I have the source code for that downloaded editor too.

Now i would like to place the whole application into my application, instead of invoking it with a new
window. Similar to acrobat reader coming and siting in the explorer... etc.

So, could u pl. tell me steps involved in adding the downloaded editor into my application and if u have some prototype code for including one application in the other application.

Thank u in advance.

This involves few problems, you can place the code that you have written in the main funtion of the editor into appropriate menu funtion in the existing IDE.

This will help if the Panel or dialog or other configuration is consistent for both.

If you are looking at a generic way of introducing a plug-in architecture then the IDE has to support all the message delegations.

you can extend your main class with a Panel or child Frame and invoke it from the main IDE.
