How to use DBGrid to retrieve data from two Oracle tables

I have oracle8i database. I built DBGrid which is bound to
ORADC. The recordsource of the ORADC is the join of two tables. I am not sure if inner join is allowed for Oracle, and i use, for example
select * from dept, emp where emp.deptno=dept.deptno

Now I want to use DBGrid to show all the fields.
I always got the error(like ambiguous column) even i bind the DBGrid datafield as dept.deptno

Please help me
