DAO installation package

I have a dao application which I need to post on the web for downloading. Can I exlude it from the installation package and direct vistors to the mdac_typ download?.
Also, who needs to install it? Only those who don´t have msoffice istalled?

Reading some more on the microsoft website, it seems like those with Windows XP, Windows 2000, Access 97 and Access 2000 won't need to install mdac_typ.exe. Is this a fair assumption??

ADO is included in MDAC not DAO and in particular the JET components have not been included in MDAC since version 2.6. Check out this article:

So which version then? What about Win 2000 and XP, will the dao routines work?

I don't know, I have not used DAO in more than 4 years, but I suspect that they are not installed with Windows 2000 or XP.
