PB=Powerbuilder, VB=Visual Basic

I don't know PB really, but i heard from some collegues that worked with VB and PB that VB is much less restrictive and better environment for developing.

I have no experiences with VB. I worked with PowerBuilder (versions 4,5 and 6) in the past and there were no problems.

Are you going to deal with BLOB data and stuff like that?
It depends what you are planning to do? I bit both works fine.
I have experince with VB and oracle, in general Oracle does not like you to do custom application outside of its platform.
It is so easy to create some application with Oracle form compare to VB. But with VB you are more flexible. I had some trouble to deal with blob data in VB . It got fixed finally but too much hassle.
If you don't deal with blob data. VB and ADO and OLE DB provider for oracle is a good way to go.
