Hi,
Can anyone tell me how to specify the opaque area color of a mask layer (spotlight, in this instance) in a Flash movie. My masked layer is white background with colored text and images. I want the spotlight to be surrounded with a dark color, not the white/opaque default.

Thanks,
Fiona.

As you can see from the tutorial in Flash Help on
building and using masks..the dark colour (the night
scene) used as a background effectively puts a dark
tone as you are wanting around the spotlight..but it also
effects the original layer..in this case the cat and
trees are on white..as your content is.

Could I suggest a layer between your copy layer and
the background layer that is identical to the mask shape and how it moves..but make it white..a virtual background..
this should cancel out the effect we can see in the
Flash tutorial!
