Can't get movie to stop looping

I am an absolute beginner at Flash 5 and I can't seem to get my movies to stop at the end. I go into file/publish settings and uncheck the loop box and then export the file. Nonetheless, when I then go into Dreamweaver to test the movie on a page, it continues to loop. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Simple

you have to goto your last frame in your movie where you wanted to stop. Then Insert Key frame. Double click on it. Flash will popup actionscript screen. In that select 'Basic Actions' and then double click on stop.

You can see actionscript like this

stop();

that's it

Thanks, I had never used action script before but that did seem pretty simple. I am still curious as to why unchecking the loop box didn't work, but the important thing is to find a way that does work! I appreciate your help.

Flash player is container and you are playing movie inside container. You are trying to stop flash player not the movie playing inside flash player.
