What is the maximum number of users that can be created in AD domain.

Theoretically, an AD domain can contain up to 10 million objects, which includes the user accounts... but 1 million objects per domain is a more practical number.  Recently heard that 2 million had been successfully tested.

Thanks a lot Eric. But is it viable to use AD to store UserName and Password of a Web application, as client is insisting for it for security reasons. If reply if you can.

you might want to post that as a new question...

i know you can restrict access to the web app via share permissions but enabling password protection, but cannot give a qualified response if AD can handle this.

post a link to the new Q so that I can at least listen in.
