Multiple sound cards?

I've just installed Debian Woody, and I have no clue as to how to get my multiple soundcards to work. The Soundblaster Live! installed fine, but the on board AC97 doesn't seem to be working. I have a sinking feeling that multiple soundcards aren't preconfigured. So, where do I begin?
