Hi,

I think that jpa files are created wrhn creating MPEP files ..

for example http://www.mpegcam.com/m2/about/mac/

M2 File Formats
You will notice that MPEG movies have file names ending in ".MPG" and JPEGs have files with ".JPG" while JPEGs with Sound (a JPEG image and a separate MPEG audio-only movie) are labeled "00123.JPA" and "00123.MPA" respectively.

When opening an ".MPG" file (an MPEG movie) in the movie player, the first frame is shown in the window. At the bottom of the screen is a time line knob which can be dragged to any point in the movie, plus a triangle "play" button. Click on the "play" button to start the movie.

When opening an ".MPA" file (an audio recording), the QuickTime player will display the matching ".JPA" file (a JPEG image) in a movie window. Click on the triangle "play" button at the bottom of the open window to hear the sound play.

Hopes this helps to explain what you are looking for ?
