Actually this does the validation as the key is pressed so that you can be sure that it will always include only alphanumeric characters and spaces.

TimCottee,

What happens if the user pastes characters into the textbox?

Good point though as Ctrl+V is disabled it would have to be done on the context menu and this could be disabled using the mousedown event.

Private Sub Text1_MouseDown(Button As Integer, Shift As Integer, X As Single, Y As Single)
    If Button = 2 Then
        MsgBox "Ha Ha"
    End If
End Sub

Of course, there is a VBA alternative to IsCharAlphaNumeric API.  You only need extra validation if you allow the user to paste into the textbox.

strTemp = Text1.Text
for i=1 to len(strTemp)
  if mid$(strTemp,i,1) like "[A-Z,a-z,0-9]"
next

Also, if you don't want to allow spaces into the textbox, you will need to modify TimCottee's fourth Case clause.
