Number of characters returned by converting to hex?

Hi,
I have a string field of size 20 chars. If i convert this string to a hex equivalent. What is the maximun numbers of characters that this hex equivalent can be?.
i.e. what is the maximum size that the new string can be?

the char is 2 bytes (unicode)
you need 2 hex symbols for each byte
20 * 4 = 80
