best video editing program

Looking for a good video editing software for Windows 2000
around $100 or so. ideally would like to stream from camcorder, edit the video with sound and effects and stream back on an 8mm tape.

Any advise?

What is the difference between the two of Ulead's products?
I actually heard a lot of complaints about them...

I think the main difference is that Media Studio has more functionality.

You can download it for free on 15 Days Trial. So what have you got to loose ??
