Server has just gone down again.

I think we are going to move away from exchange... It's just too unreliable.

We are only using it for basic pop3 accounts and it's totally overkill.

Know any good (and cheap) POP3 server applications ?

Check the web for the free stuff. Some is shareware.

Linux includes a mail app I think.

Exchange is a good app, especially if you have a lot of users. But you're right, using it for POP and SMTP only is not using all of its capabilities.
