embedding a watermark into an image (using matlab)

i've apply DCT to the image,then get a DCT coeffient matrix,how to arrange it into zig-zag sequence.I use matlab.

if you have matlab sourcecode for watermark embeding system,or tell me someplace i can find it,i'll appreciate you for much more point.

Average a watermarked image with the real image. If the watermaked image has a special color (you choose, white is ok, black, whatever) do not average, just put the real pic's data in (a masking scheme).  You can weight the real image or watermarked image more in the process, if one should be much more or less important (how light a watermark).  Do this before dct, not after, both because the dct damages the image and because its much more complcated...

Do you need visible or invisible watermark ?
Also do you need the watermark for hidding information in the image or just proving (in case of illegal copying) that this is not the original image ?
