My Hotmail Hacker is Hiding his IP Address...HOW?!?

Hi,

I have a problem.  I have been receiving strange emails within my Hotmail account from some unknown individual.  These messages contain rude details and i am very much interested in tracking down the culprit behind them.  However, when i view each message's Header Details so as to identify the Originating IP adress i ALWAYS find that the IP address is actually MINE (or some fake one that is NOT a proxy)...now obviously i am not the originating person who is sending these rude emails so it is clear that this other person (hacker) is "Modifying" these message headers in a way so that his REAL IP address is hidden so i cannot take action.  Is a hacker able to modify Hotmail Message Header's so that his IP Address as seen in the message is actually changed to my IP Address when i receive it?  I notice that this person is NOT using a Proxy so that is not the case.

Is there information on the net (url's) that i can refer to that helps better educate me on how a hacker was able to do this and how one can go about tracking this person (or protecting oneself against).

Thanks very much
Jason Lane
