Getting the Hyperlink stored in database

I have stored an Htyperlink in the database and wanted to populate that hyperlink in a HTML Report. This HTML report is being generated thru' a template defined  on a Oracle Report Writer. The Hyper Link stored as

<A HREF="http://www.hotmail.com"> HoTMaiL</A>

but while populating this hyperlink in my HTML report it shows me the exact same contents stored in my database i.e.
<A HREF="http://www.hotmail.com"> HoTMaiL</A>

When I saw the source code then it was showing me the "<" and ">" sign as "&lt;" & "&gt;" respectively.

I am working on JSP to populate this hyperlink from database.

Can anyone suggest me the solution of this problem so that I can get the hyperlink in my HTML report?

Can you show the code?

Why don't you store it as http://www.hotmail.com instead of whole line of <A HREF="http://www.hotmail.com"> HoTMaiL</A>

Since the report is being generated from Oracle report writer using (rdf/rep) so code wont be available......and if we are just trying to storing just http://www.hotmail.com then this link will be available only as a plain text in the HTML report. I have tried out to store the &#60 & &#62 instead of "<" and ">" sign but it  was not at all working.

I guess it is converting it for html display rather than html source.. can you change a setting.

I don't think JSPs have a converter btw HTML display to HTML source.

You are escaping the text retrieved from the database. Simply don't escape the text.

So you must configure you template first to have hyperlink support. Then, get the URL store in database.
