How can I see how many e-mails I am about to receive from a pop mail client?

In Outlook Express it used to be possible to see how many e-mails were going to be downloaded.  One could then chose to continue the download or leave it to a later date.  How can I set this up for Outlook 98 and 2000?

Thanks!

What mode do you have Outlook 98/2000 configured in?  The reason that I ask is that Outlook 98/2000 Corp/Workgroup mode has a remote mail feature that may do what you are looking for.  (See http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/choosingmode.htm for more information on the different modes of Outlook 98/2000.)

Outlook, right click "Outlook Today",
select properties,
select size
browse

(admittedly not quantity but size. More often, restictions are based on size, so IMO it has the importance)
