Arcserve 6.6 for Netware asks for a particular tape serial number

(Netware version 5) I have set the backup options to overwrite. My backup job is always sucessful when I use "Run Now". However, scheduled jobs only work the first time. The tape gets formatted and the backup is sucessful. The second time however ie the next day or the next run the backup asks to mount a particular tape only. The message is like this

Load Media XXXXX serial 1000009999 sequence 1 from media pool XXXX in device group arcserve.

Since the option is set to overwrite it should just format the tape but does not do it.

Any help appreciated.

Don't use media pools.

I am not using any Media pools. I am using Default settings and no rotation or Auto Pilot.

Would appreciate if you could let me know detailed steps on how to be 100% sure I am not using Media Pools.

Select database from the mail menu
Media pools
check there.

you will have a pool called default
check the settings there

default has meia pools form memory with a tape retention of x tapes - can't think what it is...

We de-installed the server and hence, the problem was not solved. The points are awarded based on effort. Thanks
