choose pen tool , and start inserting nodes on your pic. while inserting node click and drag to make the curve as you wish

it seems u didnt get my question right. ok i'll explain it in detail.

i select the Pen tool & build my image. after i close the path, i right click the built image & select stroke sub path and in that i select Pencil tool in order to hv the outline only. if i do this i dont get a smooth curve. but instead i get distortion along the contour. is there way to use aliasing/anit-aliasing here ?

ok i got it now. instead of choosing Pencil Tool , use Brush Tool , and before that choose a good heavy brush (one which has anti-aliasing prperties)

You will get the effect you desire . i just checked it , and i got the desired result
