Max length sp_OASetProperty

what is the max length string i can pass to sp_OASetProperty, i try to pass a 8000 msg long, but is truncated.

My string contain 'abc...xyzbc...xy...', no special char in it.

Fact is that the limit for the newvalue parameter is 255 in SQL 7, as newvalue is of type varchar.
This doesn't seem to have changed since...

Yes the newvalue is varchar, but if i pass my varchar(8000), the last 2000 will bu truncated.
