Charting against a timeline.

Ok - Hope I phrase this in a way which is understandable (am new-ish to Crystal Reports)

Version is 8.5

Have some data which contains sales opportunites with a variety of different dates -

Phase1 Start
Phase1 Finish
Phase2 Start
Phase2 Finish
etc..

I want to produce a chart which shows along one axis the name of the sales opportunity, then along the other axis a timeline - actual graph should then show various dates along timeline for each phase of an opportunity - A litle like a Gantt chart?

I am having real problems creating any chart against a timeline - keep getting a count of dates instead of the actual dates.

If this is not possible in a chart can I do it with a Cross-Tab Rpt? Still get this problem working with multiple date fields along one timeline..

Ideas anyone??

Any help would be gratefully appreciated

mlmcc - None of these links contain reports that offer an example like the one I am after - Really need to be plotting multiple date fields on one axis. Am going to try creating a formula field which takes date1 or date 2 or date 3 etc... then using this on one axis - Do you think this will work?
What are your columns and what type of data is there in them. Please give few sample rows for which you want to plott the graph.
