rollover action?

How do I create a picture that appears when I roll over a link?  I want to be able to roll the mouse over a word or picture and have another picture appear on the screen.

If you are struggling through that Help stuff..try this..

open a new movie.

go..insert/new symbol..call it..button 1
check..button

in the first frame of the stage that opens
put some text..say.."this is a button"

select the second frame and hit F6(this puts a keyframe
and the content of the previous frame in that frame)

(you can change the colour of the text here if you
want it to change colour on rollover)

still in that frame..go..
file/import..and find the jpeg, gif or png file you
want to use..select it and click..open

move the image to where you want it..relative to the text

to make the button work an area has to be defined as
the bit that reacts to the mouse.

this is done with the 4th (HIT) frame.
select it and hit F6 again.(or you can put in a blank
key frame(F7) and draw any shape you like..

Now delete the image from this frame.

go to the main stage..open the library..
drag an instance of button 1 to the stage.

test movie.

see HELP/Using Flash/
click the INDEX and click on the letter B
scroll down to the heading..'Buttons'..and click the third subject down..'creating buttons'.

There is a step by step explanation with graphics and
screen-shots of how to do what you want.

Remember that can put any content..text or images..and also other movies in your rollover..so your 'image' that appears on rollover can be a moving image(or moving text) if you wish..it can also appear anywhere on the stage..not just in the position of the image or text..as in a standard text rollover made with HTML.

Thank you.  I hate it when people post an answer that tells me to look at the Help files.  Like it never occurred to me. :)
